One of my good friends is the technology director for the Chicago branch of a major branch. One of the aspects of his job involves offsite data storage of all of the banks important data and information. God forbid anything happen to the building that the bank is in, but if it should happen, they have all of their sensitive materials backed up. It is his job to find the place that they will store the data, make sure it is secure, and for teaching everyone at the bank how to use the offsite data storage system. Another thing he does as the technology director is work with the corporate office on designing online banking technology. Every single time one of the new programs goes live, he needs to go to work early on a Saturday to oversee the launch. The hours he works are really overwhelming and ridiculous sometimes. I guess that is why they pay him the big bucks. He sure does earn it. I know that they appreciate all of his hard work too. Sometimes, when they know that he has been working long hours, they give him an extra day off. They tell him to stay home and relax.
