INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY COMPANY

My buddy Joe worked this job for years and he finally got me into the company.  We’re an information technology company, but Joe and I mostly fix printers, install them, and show people how to use them.  They pay well and I get to pretty much make my own schedule so I have no complaints so far.  Well, I might have only one.  On my first day during my orientation, they sat all us new employees down in the auditorium and played a film for us.  It was a disaster recovery plans video.  Everyone in the company, even me though it ended up that I didn’t use it a lot, had a computer they use on the job.  Our bosses want us to know all the disaster recovery plans we can make to save our data if the worst happens and the building burns down or a tornado knocks it over or something like that.  Honestly though, it was a relief in a way to see that video and not be forced to sit through one about sexual harassment.  In all the jobs I’ve had, I’ve seen one too many of those videos and I would have fallen asleep, which probably wouldn’t have made a good impression on my new employers.
